Digital Workplace
NASCO continues to progress the multi-phase Digital Workplace program, which will align technology across the BCBSM ecosystem to establish the workplace of the future and improve the overall user experience.
We’re approaching the end of Phase 1, which involves implementing Office 365 ProPlus. Phase 2 includes updates to Microsoft Teams and rolling out OneDrive (to replace the U drive), which happen later this summer.
What You Need to Know and Do
With Phase 2 on the horizon, there are several important items for you to know and do to help prepare.
Install Office 365 ProPlus ASAP, if you have not already. NASCO will no longer support Office 2016 after July 31. Review the installation instructions provided to you and anticipate the process taking take up to 45 minutes.
New governance for creating and maintaining a MS Team (Team within Microsoft Teams): NASCO will introduce new governance for Teams, including a request process, standard naming conventions, co-ownership, and management of business content, as part of the Phase 2 rollout.
OneDrive will replace U (personal) drive: U drive users can get ahead of the transition and begin cleaning up personal drive files by purging, storing files in other locations, etc. If you no longer need it, purge it. Everyone will receive 1 TB of storage that applies to OneDrive, OneNote, Teams chats and meeting recordings. More information will be communicated in the coming weeks.
Attend live and recorded training sessions in August and September: We will offer training sessions and resources to help you navigate the new technology, learn about features and functionality, and maximize the use of OneDrive and Teams.
Visit the Microsoft Applications Community. Here you can access helpful information and resources on the Office 365 ProPlus migration, as well as read about future phases of the broader Digital Workplace program.
