Have You Heard About What’s Coming to NASCO?
Microsoft Teams Voice
Ring, ring, it is the future of NASCO communications calling, and the message is clear — for associates, it’s time to say “good-bye” to our desk phones in the Atlanta and NASCO North offices.
In alignment with the tools and technologies of our parent company, BCBSM, we are planning to move to MS Teams Voice in mid-December.
Physical desk phones in office cubes will be removed and new MS Teams Voice compatible phones will be added to conference rooms. Only our conference rooms will have direct dial capabilities. Everyone will be able to use the Teams Conferencing feature, which will also have the option to have attendees dial into the conference. If you are planning to visit our offices, you’ll need to either use your computer or a conference room phone to make calls.
The need for DID (Direct Inward Dialing) numbers is eliminated and all users will have online access to MS Teams conference capabilities. You’ll be able to use Teams just like you do now for PC-to-PC calling, by using the button in the upper right corner of the Teams chat window.
Microsoft Teams Voice is Microsoft’s cloud-based phone system add-on for Microsoft Office 365. Think of it as a phone system that lives in the cloud and is accessible from a mobile device, your computer or a desk phone anywhere. Designed to integrate seamlessly with other systems, it functions as unified communications platform serving as a one-stop-shop for bringing communication channels together into the digital workplace. By utilizing the tools and functions of MS Teams Voice, we are laying the groundwork to make our eventual migration to Microsoft Office365 an easier transition.
Look for more information and details on what you need to do via email as we get closer to the migration.
